Deluxe Baked Pear

A yummy baked dessert that is Gluten free, Dairy free and Egg free. You can substitute pears for apples if you prefer or use a mixture of both.

Ingredients:

2 medium organic pears, peeled, cored and thinly sliced

2T organic creamy almond butter, divided

2c dairy free organic yogurt, plain or vanilla (Kite Hill)

1/4tsp organic almond extract (if using vanilla yogurt leave out)

1/4c slivered or chopped organic almonds, toasted

Directions:

Heat oven 350 degrees.

Oil 8x8 baking dish with organic coconut oil or olive oil. Place a layer of pear slices in dish; cover with a thin layer (1 Tbs) of almond butter.

Repeat with another layer of pear slices and another tablespoon of almond butter. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Cover and bake 15-20 minutes.

Meanwhile mix yogurt, almond extract (if using) in a small bowl.

Served warm pears topped with yogurt mixture. Top with toasted almonds.
