Meatzza Pizza

Get creative with your toppings and add the combination your family likes. There are many topping options listed below to get your creative juices flowing. This recipe is Gluten free, Dairy free, Paleo and with Egg free option.

 

Base

Ingredients:

1 1/2lbs grass fed ground beef

1lb ground pork (can use only beef)

1/4c organic onion, finely diced

1 clove organic garlic, finely diced

1 organic egg, beaten (can use egg replacer)

¾ tsp sea salt

¼ tsp organic ground black pepper

2 tsp dried organic oregano

1 tsp dried organic basil

 

Directions:

Preheat oven 450 degrees.

Combine beef, pork, onion, garlic, egg, sea salt, pepper, oregano and basil in a large mixing bowl. Mix well.

Pat out evenly onto a 16” rimmed pizza pan. (can use a 9x13 glass baking dish) Bake for 10 mins.

Remove from oven and carefully pour off the juices that have accumulated in the pan. The meat will have shrunk.

 

Toppings

1 can (14.5oz) organic pizza sauce

nitrate free pepperoni (Applegate Farms)

4 slices of nitrate free bacon, cooked & crumbled (Beeler’s)

½ organic red bell pepper, chopped

organic fresh green beans, chopped

organic yellow squash, chopped

organic zucchini, chopped

organic asparagus, chopped

organic artichoke hearts, chopped

organic sundried tomatoes, chopped

organic fresh spinach

dairy free mozzarella & cheddar cheese mix (Daiya cheese) or omit cheese all together

 

Directions:

While the meat base is baking, sauté together the chopped red bell pepper, green beans, yellow squash, zucchini & asparagus until tender.

Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the surface of the cooked meat base.

Layer on pepperoni, bacon, sautéed vegetables, sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts and spinach. Finish by sprinkling cheese over the top.

Bake for 5-10 mins or until heated through and cheese is bubbly.
